Which solar rebates are available for me?

This is another one of those questions that can be answered with:  It depends.

Government agencies, utilities and others offer a variety of tax credits, rebates and other incentives to support energy efficiency, encourage the use of renewable energy sources, and support efforts to conserve energy and lessen pollution.   All of the incentives for each state are found on a specific website called DSIRE.  Since 1995, DSIRE has served as the most comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility and federal incentives and policies that promote renewables and energy efficiency in the United States.  You can visit DSIRE at www.dsireusa.org.  The website provides up-to-date, accurate information to help individuals and organizations navigate the renewable energy and energy efficiency policy world.

DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on federal, state, local and utility incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the N.C. Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council.  It is currently being updated and will be available in a new and improved form in the Summer of 2014.  In addition, you can go to the website of the United States Department of Energy and locate the tool that identifies your state along with its rebates.  Simply select your state to find savings that may be available to you or your business at http://energy.gov/savings.
